Dom Cathedral

The Dom cathedral towers over Cologne like a mountain.

Demons beware.

During carnival the Dom broods over a bizarre scene.

Here it is with 5 segments of a Japanese caterpillar.

Inside, it is shockingly big.

This organ is the size of a bus.

One of the many beautiful stained glass windows.

One of the windows was of a more modern style.

From the outside.

There were a number of crypts and sarcophagi. There has been a church or cathedral on this site for around 900 years, so there are no shortage of important figures buried here.

We also climbed the 522 steps to get to the top of one of the bell towers. It was a long climb, but worth it for the view. On the right hand of the bridge in this photo is where we put our lock.
