Ekka and Stargazing

A few weeks ago we went to Ekka, the Brisbane Exhibition. It was a huge event filled with all kinds of stuff - a dog show, loads of animals, a bunch of gov't exhibits, a big food fair, wine tastings - all over the map. It's a big deal here - the city gets the day off on the day it opens.




We went to the petting zoo area. The best was the way the aggressive goats would head butt the other ones in order to stuff their faces into the feed cups.


We got to play with these guys.


They were cute, except for when one pooped on my hand.


There was also a huge section glorifying agriculture in Queensland through awesome displays. It's amazing the art you can make with beans.





Later that night we met up with some friends and drove out to the middle of nowhere for some stargazing. I spent most of the evening looking through the scope, not taking pictures, but I did get this one:
