Northbrook Gorge

On Sunday I met up with Jenni and Brad and a whole load of their friends to go on a hike through a part of the Brisbane National Forest Park near Mt Glorious. After a slog through some bush up onto one small peak, we descended into the bottom of the Northbrook gorge to rock hop our way down stream. Parts of the walk necessitated swimming in boots.

Heading down into the gorge through the bush.

We scared this guy up a tree as we walked down. He was about a meter long.

Rockhopping before the gorge got too steep. When this place floods it must be a lot different.

The Northbrook gorge. Walking through this stuff I felt like Dr. Livingston.

A river crossing just before lunch.

Another one.

Before jumping once more into the water. Just around the corner from this picture was the biggest spider I've ever seen, but my camera was in my dry bag.
